Leicester City stars, dignitaries and guests gathered at the stunning King Power Mahanakhon skyscraper on Saturday evening to raise a toast in celebration of the Football Club’s visit to Bangkok, Thailand.

The Foxes are in the Land of Smiles this week, continuing preparations for the new Sky Bet Championship campaign, while also staging their biggest-ever international fan event for the people of a country with which the Club shares a special connection.

On the eve of a showpiece friendly against Tottenham Hotspur at Rajamangala Stadium, Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha entertained City stars past and present at an exclusive blue-carpet evening, celebrating the Club’s past and heralding the start of a new era under new Manager Enzo Maresca.

Enzo was there to meet with Leicester’s Thai hosts too, as was No.9 Jamie Vardy, ex-Porto full-back Ricardo Pereira, new signing Callum Doyle and England international James Justin. Wes Morgan, the man who lifted the Premier League trophy seven years ago, was also in attendance, alongside ‘90s heroes Emile Heskey, Matt Elliott and Gerry Taggart.

Surrounded by trophies including the Premier League, FA Cup and the FA Community Shield, guests could also enjoy the Foxes Journey exhibition on the Mahanakhon’s 74th floor – lovingly curated by Club Historian John Hutchinson to offer a window into Leicester City’s 139-year history for fans in the Thai capital.

After the panel took questions, an exciting moment arrived as the sun set beneath the Bangkok skyline below, as we unveiled our 2023/24 adidas away kit – reintroducing a design with origins dating back to the Club’s very formation back in 1884.

The black strip features a Cambridge blue sash which runs from the right shoulder down to the left hip – just like Leicester Fosse’s first-ever shirt on 1 November, 1884. Back in the United Kingdom, meanwhile, the Club’s Leicester-based fans were the first to their hands on the new kit, with the Foxes Fanstore making it available for sale immediately after its launch in Bangkok.

A busy Saturday is followed by a matchday on Sunday as Maresca’s men tackle Spurs at the Rajamangala. Fans in Thailand still have a chance to be part of the action, with tickets on-sale HERE, while Digital Members based outside of Thailand, Singapore and Australia can watch a live stream of that match on Foxes Hub, with coverage starting at 9:45am BST.

While the players spend this week working – focused purely on the season opener against Coventry City at King Power Stadium – Morgan, Heskey, Elliott and Taggart will be on duty around the city, engaging with Thai supporters of all ages across a diary of events designed to bring the Leicester City experience to them.
