- Leicester City face Coventry City at King Power Stadium on Sunday
- Manager Enzo Maresca gave the media an update on his squad
- Conor Coady picked up a foot injury during pre-season
- Victor Kristiansen is currently the only other player set to miss the game
The Foxes are facing the Sky Blues at King Power Stadium, with Sunday’s 12pm BST kick-off a chance to start the Sky Bet Championship campaign in a positive manner in front of home support under the new Manager Maresca.
The Italian spoke to the media from inside the King Power Centre at LCFC Training Ground, sharing an update on the fitness of his squad. England international Coady, one of City’s first summer signings, remains unavailable for selection after missing the pre-season tour of Southeast Asia following a foot injury sustained during the pre-season friendly against OH Leuven.
No timescale has been put on Coady's return as he continues to be assessed by the Club’s medical staff, while fellow defender Kristiansen has picked up a minor injury that will keep him out of this weekend's game, Maresca confirmed.
“Unfortunately, Conor is not with us,” the 43-year-old said on the centre-back. “He won’t be with us tomorrow and probably won’t be with us for the next few games.
“We don’t know [when he will be back]. We are still waiting for to see how he improves and then we can finally have an idea about the time. We don’t know timings because they are still analysing the injury.”
“Dennis [Praet] is fit, Wout [Faes] is fit, [Jamie] Vardy is fit. Victor is not fit. He is injured. He could be with us in the next few days, the next weeks. It is not something important.”
