Leicester City must not let up in their pursuit of further victories at this early stage of the season, according to Callum Doyle.

- Two points and two places separate the teams in the Championship

The Foxes’ quest for a sixth win in seven Sky Bet Championship matches comes from Carrow Road as Enzo Maresca’s side take on fourth-place Norwich City in an 8pm kick-off on Wednesday evening.

Coming off the back of a 4-1 success at Southampton five days earlier, there is plenty of confidence within the squad as they prepare for another tricky away fixture. The defender knows they cannot afford to take their foot off the gas, however.

“We’re all pleased but obviously it’s a long season and there are going to be tough games,” he said, speaking ahead of facing the Canaries. “We need to keep winning and everyone’s raring to go again. We’ve just going to take every game and give it our best shot.

“Everyone enjoys [playing a lot], that’s what we train to do. For me personally, I love to play games. That feeling, that buzz that you get from the fans is unreal. This is what we’re paid to do, even when they are coming this fast, we’ve got to do our best to prepare right for them, whether that’s our personal stuff, in the gym or on the training pitch.

“I don’t really like having rests. I like to keep training and keep myself fit because the games are going to come quickly. There’s 10 within a short space of time.

I’ve settled in quickly. The Club’s great, the facilities are great, the lads have been great helping me. I'm really enjoying it.

“They (Norwich) are doing well at the moment. I think it will be a tough test. They’ve got some key players I’ve been watching and taking notes on. With the amount of games that we have, we’ve got to do what we’ve been training to do.”

The Manchester City loanee previously played under Maresca for the Citizens’ Development Squad and has featured in every minute of every game across all competitions so far this term, operating from a left-back or centre-back position within the Manager’s new-look system.

Spells with Coventry City and Sunderland have also contributed to making it a seamless transition at Leicester.

An ever-present for the Foxes in 2023/24.

The 19-year-old explained: “Obviously you’d like to think that in your head you’ve got to be prepared for anything that comes at you. And Enzo wanted me to play the role that I have been doing, which I’m glad to do. I’m happy that I’m playing.

“I’ve settled in quickly. The Club’s great, the facilities are great, the lads have been great helping me to settle in. I’m really enjoying it. My past experiences have helped me. One, I know Enzo quite well, and secondly, I was at Coventry last season.

“Being in the Championship, there are going to be games where it is tough, especially this season with the teams that you are looking at. There are Premier League standard teams that we’re going to be coming up against.”
