- Enzo Maresca named Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month
- Leicester City won every one of their league games in October
- It is the second time the Foxes Manager has won the accolade this season
It is the second time the Italian has won the accolade this season, after his side picked up 18 points from a possible 18 in October, scoring 15 goals and breaking Club records along the way.
They kick-started the month with a 4-1 victory away at Blackburn Rovers, before two home wins against Preston North End (3-0) and Stoke City (2-0), and three further wins against Swansea City (3-1), Sunderland (1-0) and Queen’s Park Rangers (2-1) that sees them 11 points clear of third in the table.
Discussing his success, Maresca said: “It’s great to be recognised with this award again – it shows we are moving in the right direction. As I said before, though, it’s a joint effort – the players have really bought into what we are trying to achieve, and I have a great team of staff behind me.
“It’s still early in the season - there’s still a long way to go and much still to improve on, but if we continue in this way, I will be very happy.”
Maresca fought off competition from Middlesbrough’s Michael Carrick, Southampton’s Russell Martin and Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna and will next lead his side out against Middlesbrough at Riverside Stadium on Saturday 11 November (3pm kick-off).
