Leicester City will be searching for a response following midweek disappointment when they travel to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, says Mads Hermansen.

- Enzo Maresca’s side remain at the league’s summit following a draw with Sheffield Wednesday
- The meeting with the Baggies presents a chance to get back to winning ways

A 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday saw the Foxes’ lead at the top of the Sky Bet Championship cut to just one point, with a stoppage-time leveller from the Owls denying Enzo Maresca’s men all three points, following Abdul Fatawu’s first-half opener at Hillsborough.

Hermansen felt the performance fell below the high standards that have been set this season, leading to dropping points on the road for just the second time in 2023/24. It’s now straight back to work on the training field with another important encounter just around the corner.

We try to win every game because we have the quality and what it takes to win every game, so we stay focused on that.

“We will start to analyse the game and find some things to improve,” the Denmark international assured. “We will try to find all the solutions we can to give ourselves the best opportunity to go on a good run again.

“We’re not happy with the performance. There’s a lot of things that we can improve. Sometimes that happens in football and I think we have been good throughout the season to score late ourselves, so sometimes this happens. We have to find the reasons why and solve them.”

The Baggies will provide another stern test at The Hawthorns this weekend, but backed by another sell-out away end, the 23-year-old knows the importance of getting back on track against Carlos Corberán’s side.

“We look forward to every game,” City’s ‘keeper continued. “But it’s a tough one. We don’t really look at the statistics. We try to win every game because we have the quality and what it takes to win every game, so we stay focused on that.

“They’ve been brilliant. It was freezing (at Sheff Weds) and we really appreciate all the people getting out there to support us. We feel like we play at home every game so it’s great.”

The traditionally busy Christmas period is almost upon us and Hermansen is confident that Leicester have the depth and quality within the squad to cope with the rigours of the Championship’s festive schedule.

The shot-stopper added: “It’s my first time over here with the Christmas games, so I look forward to playing all these games in a short time. Of course, it’s important to recover. We look to the next one now.

“We know that every player in this squad is important for the whole season and for us to get success, so everybody knows that we all have to stay sharp and work as a group.”
