- Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall speaks after the Sky Bet Championship title was won
- Leicester City are second-tier champions after winning 3-0 at Preston North End
- The Academy graduate says it was his 'personal mission' to get City back in the Premier League
The Foxes, who were promoted on Friday, sealed an eighth second-tier title on Monday with a 3-0 victory over Preston North End - their 31st win of the season.
It's been a remarkable season for the Academy graduate from Shepshed, who has netted 12 goals and registered 14 assists to fire Enzo Maresca's men to the summit. They will lift the Championship trophy on Saturday.
Monday's success in Lancashire was sealed thanks to Jamie Vardy's brace and a header from Kasey McAteer and was followed by delirious celebrations between the players and the near-6,000 away fans at Deepdale.
"It’s so, so special," said Dewsbury-Hall at full-time. "You can hear by my voice. This was the dream. This was the goal at the start of the season – to be able to have this moment. To say that we’ve won the title.
"I always believed it and I knew that we could do it if we applied ourselves right. I feel so happy and so proud that the dream’s come true. I just can’t describe it, [the fans] deserve it, I’m so happy.
"It was a personal mission, I’ll be honest. I wanted to get this Club back to where they belong. I’ve tried my absolute hardest to do that. The fact I can say that I’ve done it, I’m so, so happy. Words can’t describe how I’m feeling right now."
Speaking while the fans sung his name, Dewsbury-Hall struggled to put into words the importance of the Blue Army's support.
"It’s the best feeling in the world," he added. "I grew up watching Leicester. To say that I can be on the pitch and they’re singing my song, sometimes I have to pinch myself that this is actually real. I’ve worked so hard and I’m so happy that I’m here and I can say that I’ve had moments like this."
After coming together with his team-mates on Friday night, it's been a happy weekend for the City squad, who nevertheless approached the Preston game with professionalism, as shown by the result.
"Magical," the 25-year-old said. "A couple of the lads got together to watch the [QPR vs. Leeds] game. We weren’t expecting anything and, fair play to QPR, they played probably the best game they’ve played all season.
"To know that it was done then was such a relief. Of course, I’d have liked to have won with it with us playing ourselves, but the pressure was off us tonight.
"We’d already done it and, as you can see, we played with freedom and played really well. Now the title’s ours no matter what happens. We’ve got it!"
Now Leicester's No.22 and his team-mates can look forward to lifting the trophy after Saturday's final-day encounter with Blackburn Rovers.
"It’s going to be an unbelievable day," he continued. "These fans deserve it. I can’t wait for it. To lift that trophy in the King Power will be the best feeling in the world."
