The Italian, appointed last July, has overseen a record-breaking campaign at King Power Stadium, eventually finishing on 97 points and securing the Sky Bet Championship title.

Not only did City make the best-ever start to a second-tier season, Maresca's men also equaled a Club record for 31 league wins in a single campaign. No team in English football has now won the second division more than Leicester (8).

Soaking up the atmosphere after lifting the trophy on Saturday, the Manager described how proud he is to restore the Club's place in the top flight less than 12 months after they were relegated.

"Fantastic, fantastic," he beamed. "Today, with our fans, thinking that less than one year ago, the same fans were upset. We have given them back what they deserved. It’s huge. I’m very proud. We work every day to live these kind of days.

"To share them with the fans, it’s fantastic. We’ve given them back what they deserve. The owners are fantastic as well, we’re all very happy."

It's been a week of celebrations for the Foxes, but Maresca just wants everyone associated with the Club to enjoy them, before planning starts for Leicester's return to the Premier League.

He added: "We’ll enjoy this with our friends, our family, the players. The people, look how happy they are. It’s a fantastic moment for us."
