- Leicester City are to host Tottenham Hotspur on Monday 19 August
- Midfielder Harry Winks is looking forward to facing his former employers
- The former Spurs man is also excited for the challenge back in the top flight
The Foxes will make their top-flight return by hosting Ange Postecoglou's Spurs on Monday 19 August (8pm BST kick-off) after securing the Sky Bet Championship title last term.
City's early-season run-in will then take them to Craven Cottage to tackle Fulham before entertaining Aston Villa back on Filbert Way. The Club's full 2024/25 fixture schedule was confirmed by the Premier League on Tuesday morning.
Winks, a vital part of the promotion-winning campaign last time out, can't wait for the opportunity to face a club he called home since the age of five. It's also a chance to build some vital momentum at the outset, Leicester's No.8 says.
"I’m buzzing to see the fixtures for the new season, and a home game against my former club Tottenham on the opening weekend is something I’m really looking forward to," he said on Tuesday.
"The first game is always a big occasion, and we’re aiming to set the tone for a successful season ahead. It’s important to start strong and build momentum, and I believe we have the quality to do just that."
Winks, 28, is full of confidence ahead of the new campaign - as the Foxes aim to re-establish themselves in the Premier League. The backing of the Blue Army, as ever, will be vital to their chances, according to the England midfielder.
"We’ve got a great squad here and we’re all eager to show what we’re capable of right from the start," he added. "Last season was a really successful one for us, so it’s vital we take that momentum into the new campaign and begin on a high note.
"Starting the season in front of our fans at King Power Stadium will also be special. They’ve been brilliant with me since I joined the Club last summer and I can’t wait to see them all again. They’ll play a big part this year."
