Miquel takes charge of LCFC Women following a lengthy stint as manager of Stade de Reims Féminines.
The 40-year-old, who was confirmed as the new Manager on Monday afternoon, boasts a strong record and experience across the women’s professional game in her native France, becoming the first non-UK manager to coach LCFC Women.
In the academy at Chelsea as a youth player, Miquel also played in Reunion before beginning her managerial career with Bergerac Périgord in the fourth tier and then spent a season at Chamois Niortais.
In 2017, Reims came calling and Miquel guided Les rouges et blancs to promotion into the Première Ligue two years later, marking the first time that the club had competed at the top level for 30 years.
Seven years with the Marne-based outfit brought a refined system, while Miquel’s coaching methods paid off to great effect, enhancing her reputation further via a fourth-place finish in the top-flight last term.
Working with a relatively young squad, holding an average age of just 23, the year-on-year progression demonstrated Miquel’s astute tactical brain, which was also evident in several runs into the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France.
Miquel is now set to lead Leicester into a fourth successive season as a Barclays Women’s Super League club, with a pre-season tour to Australia approaching ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
