The free event gave thousands of Foxes fans their first opportunity to see how both teams are shaping up in pre-season under their respective managers Steve Cooper and Amandine Miquel, as excitement for the new season continues to build among the Blue Army.

A fun-filled day for fans of all ages, those with a keen eye on the pitch were treated to back-to-back sessions on Filbert Way, while there were photo and signing opportunities for young supporters, able to meet their heroes during the summer holidays.

LCFC favourites Matt Elliott, Gerry Taggart and Ali Mauchlen were also in attendance at the Foxes Fanstore, alongside Club mascot Filbert Fox, with several activities to enjoy throughout, including face painting, inflatables and football-based games.

Prize draws also took place and some lucky fans had the chance to experience what it feels like to sit in the dugout at King Power Stadium.

Cooper’s men are next in action on Saturday at Stade Félix Bollaert-Delélis, facing RC Lens in a final friendly before the Premier League campaign gets underway against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday 19 August.

Speaking at the event, full-back Ricardo Pereira commented: "It's our first time at King Power Stadium in the new season and hopefully we will have some good times here.

A rare chance to sit in the dugout.

"I'm really excited to be back in the Premier League again, where we belong. The first game will be very important, to start well, and hopefully with three points. We will be ready and give our best."

LCFC Women, meanwhile, begin their Barclays Women’s Super League season away to Liverpool on Sunday 22 September, before hosting Arsenal a week later.

A word with the Manager.

New Manager Miquel reflected on her first few weeks at Belvoir Drive: "We're very happy to train here and to get to meet some of the fans and show what we've been working on. We've had time for a few training sessions and we're starting to develop the game project.

"We're getting the players ready for the first games. We're very excited to get started as soon as we can. We have a few weeks to go to prepare and we'll be ready to face Liverpool in their stadium."
