- Robert Huth hopes Leicester City will repeat their Emirates FA Cup success over Everton on Sunday
- City emerged from Goodison Park as 2-1 victors back in January ahead of the Premier League clash
- Huth says the Foxes can take confidence on Merseyside from their brilliant six-match winning run
- Leicester also won their first away match of the season in the Premier League at West Ham United
The Foxes are in sparking form in all competitions with and Huth sees of no reason why that cannot continue going into another vital few days. After facing the Toffees at the weekend, City then travel out to Spain for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Quarter-Final with Atlético Madrid.
But all of the German centre-back’s focus is firmly on tackling the threats at Everton's disposal this weekend and, if City can maintain their high pressing style of play in Liverpool, Huth is confident that Craig Shakespeare’s men can continue their remarkable upturn in fortunes.
Looking ahead, the 32-year-old said: “They had a good team out when we played them in the Cup and we managed to go through. That should give us a little bit of extra confidence with a strong team. They’ll do the same because they want three points to qualify for Europe. It’ll be tough for us.”
Asked to describe the reasons behind City’s recent form, Huth added: “At home, we’ve got that expectation to go 1-0 up early on. We tend to start the games with a really high intensity and putting pressure on teams. On Tuesday, we started well and we were surprised to not be in front.
“We made a good substitution with Marc [Albrighton] coming on and he created two goals for us. If we get the kick-off, we really try and lock them into their half for the first 10 minutes. We did that against Liverpool, Man City and Stoke. The main thing was we got the three points.”
Huth also suggested that Leicester have got their confidence back away from King Power Stadium, too, following a 3-2 success at West Ham United last month. The defender scored City’s second at the London Stadium.
He added: “It’s strange because last year we did so well away and this year we haven’t. It was a good performance against West Ham. We made it more difficult on the day than what it should have been, but we got the three points in the end.”
