- Robert Huth says Leicester City’s 2-2 Premier League draw at Crystal Palace was a fair result
- Huth opened the scoring at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon
- The draw moves the Foxes nine points clear of the bottom three
Robert Huth felt Leicester City put in a professional display against a dangerous Crystal Palace side on Saturday.
The Foxes – despite taking a 2-0 lead – drew 2-2 at Selhurst Park to move nine points clear of the drop zone with six Premier League games to play.
Huth put City in front after just six minutes, before Jamie Vardy doubled his side’s lead after the break, but goals from Yohan Cabaye and Christian Benteke saw the Eagles .
after the full-time whistle, Huth said: “I think it was a fair result in the end. We started the game well and we were pretty solid in the first half.
“Once we went 2-0 up, we knew we were going to be under the cosh for a while and that’s exactly how it turned out. We did okay to hang on in the end.
“You’re obviously trying to get the win over the line but we saw on Monday night how difficult it is for sides to come here. In the end, we’re pleased with the point.
“It was a positive performance considering we played on Tuesday night. We looked strong today, both physically and mentally. There’s a lot to look forward to.
“Our aim was to not lose today and it obviously keeps them underneath us. I thought we did a very professional job.”
Huth’s early header came courtesy of one of many Christian Fuchs long throws that caused havoc at times for Palace’s back line.
Discussing his goal, the German added: “It’s great and it’s something that I’ve been trying to do every time I go forward – to cause a bit of chaos. Today I managed to get a header on it and it went in.
“In the first half especially, I got my head on Christian’s throw-ins quite a few times. It’s a good weapon.”
