- Foxes end the Perth International Football Cup with a win
- City beat WSL side West Ham United 5-2 at HBF Park
- Missy Goodwin was among the goalscorers on Sunday afternoon
City finished the tournament as victors in the third-place play-off at HBF Park on Sunday and now enter the final stages of their pre-season preparations on home soil.
Forward Missy Goodwin was satisfied with the Foxes' overall performance and believes the team will reap the benefits of the tour in the new campaign.
"It was a really positive game for us all," the attacker noted. "It was a good team performance and there's a lot of positives to take into the coming season. The win brings confidence to not only the goalscorers, but the whole squad."
With accuracy on point in and around the opposition box, Amandine Miquel's side scored goals from all areas of the pitch as five different players netted during the match in Western Australia.
Goodwin believes the two fixtures in the southern hemisphere will help foster a strong sense of confidence for the squad as they work towards taking on Liverpool in their Barclays Women's Super League opener later this month.
"It has been a really positive day, all-around," the England Under-23s international continued. "We were really clinical today. As a team, we've really adapted to the environment, and we've played two really good games.
“Towards the end of the game, we need to make sure we concentrate. That lack of concentration cost us two goals and taking that on board will help us in the long run."
City now head back home to Belvoir Drive with work continuing towards a fourth consecutive season in the top flight of women's football.
