Saturday’s trip to Emirates Stadium sees Leicester City return to Premier League duties for a 3pm BST kick-off against the Gunners after progressing in the Carabao Cup this midweek, having made 10 changes to the starting XI at Walsall.

Off the back of a draw with Everton, meanwhile, City’s Manager addressed his squad’s fitness status on Thursday, with a third game of the week on the horizon.

Current absentees include Denmark centre-back Vestergaard, who remains out of contention, last featuring for the Foxes at Fulham on matchday two of the league campaign.

We’re as we were, there’s no change from the last Premier League game.

“We had a few bumps and bruises from the game against Everton and a few of the lads didn’t quite make it to be available for the game on Tuesday,” Cooper explained.

“Everybody got through Tuesday’s game okay. With the boys that have been out for a little while, Vestergaard is still not available for the weekend so we’re as we were, there’s no change from the last Premier League game.”

Jakub Stolarczyk, on the other hand, is yet to feature this term due to picking up a foot injury during pre-season, but the Polish ‘keeper is progressing well in his recovery.

“He’s walked out onto the grass today (Thursday),” the Welshman revealed. “He’s making good progress. We’re getting really good reports on his attitude to his recovery.

“It was innocuous how he did it and he ended up breaking his foot. He’s been really positive around the place and he’s had a breakthrough getting back on the grass.”
