Amandine Miquel believes LCFC Women didn't create enough chances to win Wednesday's League Cup game against Bristol City.

Two games into the Barclays Women's Super League season, and with one point in hand, City switched lanes to the Women's League Cup on Wednesday evening when they welcomed Bristol City to Burton.

Held to a 1-1 draw at the end of 90 minutes, it was the visitors who took the extra point on penalties, and the Manager admits that a lack of rhythm and movement denied the side a first win of the season.

"I think that in the game, we could've done better and maybe expected to score a few more," Miquel said. "There were some occasions but not enough where we lacked movement and a change of rhythm, to give them more trouble.

Shana scored on her second City appearance.

"In the end, they defended well and we were not intense enough in our transitions and movements so we didn't create enough chances. But there were some good things in the contest and some things we need to work on.

"We know what's required but we know what we need to do to have more occasions in their box and score more goals. You can't always do it well and tonight was a half-half game where we did some things well but not quite enough.

"In the end, we have identified how we can make a difference and now we just have to be better doing what we're trying to do and tonight we lacked those fine details."

Making nine changes to the squad, which included a senior debut for Academy starlet Nelly Las on the right wing, the former Stade de Reims Manager explained how the week has also been about managing workload with three games in quick succession.

We know what's required but we know what we need to do to have more occasions in their box and score more goals.

Another positive from the evening came in the second half when Shana Chossenotte netted her first Leicester goal, in just her second game, and looked a threat when introduced against the Robins.

Miquel continued: "The idea, with having three games in 10 days, was to give the players game time to ensure we stayed fit as a squad. I think that the players that hadn't played in the first two games were able to get some minutes and become ready should we need them in the next few games.

"Shana [Chossenotte] was very happy to score her first goal because she was sad after the shot she missed against Arsenal, so she was happy to score and she will bring us a lot of speed and power on the wing so it's good to have her getting up to full fitness."
