- LCFC Women held Aston Villa to a 0-0 draw on Sunday afternoon
- The Foxes recorded their first clean sheet of the campaign
- We take the point and keep going, says Janina Leitzig
The Foxes put in a hard-fought performance at Villa Park last weekend that saw them walk away with a point in the Barclays Women's Super League.
Relieved to have improved on a Crystal Palace performance last time out, Leitzig stated it was a team effort, and that City should be happy with the point.
"I think we are happy with a point and a clean sheet, as a 'keeper it's always nice to get a clean sheet," the shot-stopper explained. "We take it and keep going.
"Especially after last week (against Crystal Palace), we analysed what we needed to do and you could see the improvements today. I was really proud of the team.
"Everyone gave everything and I think we made ourselves proud with the performance."
Making some important stops, including an injury-time save from point blank range, the former Bayern Munich 'keeper was happy that the Foxes got something from their efforts, and looks forward to a home return next Sunday when they face Everton (3pm BST kick-off).
Leitzig continued: "It's always nice to help the team and if I can help by making saves then it's better, but like I said it was a team performance, and all in all, it was really good because we worked really hard.
"I think we can get a lot of confidence out of that performance because when we work hard, I think we can beat any team, especially at home at King Power Stadium in front of our own fans.
"We're looking forward to it but we know we need to put in the same performance as today, and hopefully score some goals at the other end."
