City picked up their first Barclays Women's Super League win of the campaign at King Power Stadium last weekend when an early strike from Yuka Momiki sent them on their way to three points.

Tierney, who has started in every game this term, was pleased to see out a victory on Filbert Way, and committed to the process under Manager Amandine Miquel, admitting that the best is still to come.

"We're very pleased to get the three points," Tierney opened with. "But as Amandine [Miquel] said, it's a process. It's important to get those three points heading into the international break. It's only the first one of the season and we've got a long way to go.

But it's good to win and hopefully we can use this to keep going.

"The fans have always been supporting us through every game. Like I said, it's a process and we have to take learnings from every game we've had.

"We had to take our learnings from the Palace game but I think we're showing that we are learning from that and are tweaking a few things. For now, to take the three points is good and a good feeling. Hopefully we can build on this."

Bouncing back with consecutive clean sheets since a disappointing defeat to Crystal Palace, Tierney was keen to commend the defensive stability that the Foxes are creating.

Hoping that this confidence will guide Leicester through the international break, the midfielder is looking forward to continuing the hard work to replicate this result.

Tierney added: "We have to make the most of this winning feeling and use it to continue winning but to the outside world, it shows that sticking with us will work. Amandine said there is no easy game in this league and we'll need to keep fighting and working to get more points.

"I think that you can see we're trying to be more compact. We're building on that and we know that we're not perfect. But the spaces are smaller and we're closer to each other.

"We just need to work on our transitions and make sure we finish those chances. But it's good to win and hopefully we can use this to keep going.

"Sometimes the international break can interrupt your momentum but we need to use it as a positive. The girls can go away on their international duties and be confident that when they come back, we'll be ready for the next game."
