Supporting the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, the Football Club will come together to commemorate the sacrifices of servicemen and women in conflicts past and present.

Steve Cooper, Club Ambassador Alan Birchenall and LCFC Women manager Amandine Miquel will hold poppy wreaths in front of the dugouts prior to kick-off, with a period of silence to follow upon the sounding of The Last Post.

A large poppy tifo will be displayed inside the stadium, along with a poppy banner laid on the centre circle, while players will warm-up in Royal British Legion (RBL) t-shirts and wear poppies on their match shirts.

Volunteers from RBL will also be bucket collecting throughout the evening and standard bearers will line-up in front of the East Stand before the game.

Leicester City Ambassador Alan Birchenall, said: “It is always a special occasion when we come together as a Club to honour the brave men and women of our armed forces. Friday’s game will be a moment for everyone to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

“As always, we’ll be united as a community in gratitude and respect, showing our appreciation for their service and remembering those we’ve lost.”

Match-worn shirts - adorned with poppies and signed by each player - will be auctioned via MatchWornShirt, with last season’s campaign raising over £32,000.

Every year the RBL leads the nation in Remembrance across the UK to honour the contribution of our Armed Forces community, past and present.

Since it was first worn as an act of Remembrance over 100 years ago, the red poppy has become an enduring symbol of support for our Armed Forces. Remembrance unites people of all faiths, cultures, and backgrounds.

While our Remembrance Fixture is taking place ahead of the dedicated weeks, we wanted to ensure our fans have the opportunity to pay their respects and contribute to the Royal British Legion's vital work at a Leicester City fixture.
