Barclays Women's Super League action returns this weekend for LCFC Women who face Brighton & Hove Albion at Broadfield Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

With the October international break coming to a close, domestic club action returns this weekend for City who face a high-flying Brighton outfit, as they look to build on their 1-0 win over Everton last time out...

The Foxes camp

Yuka Momiki scored her first of the season against Everton.

Sat seventh in the standings, Leicester recorded their first win of the Amandine Miquel era with a narrow victory over Everton in their last fixture before the break at King Power Stadium.

With a number of forwards within the Club sidelined with injury, it was Yuka Momiki who found the net eight minutes in on Filbert Way, and the squad was boosted by the long-awaited return of Hannah Cain, after recovering from her second ACL injury.

Despite only scoring twice this season, the Foxes do hold the joint-third best defensive record in the WSL, conceding on only four occasions, and have not conceded in 180 minutes of football; a stat that warranted Sophie Howard's nomination for the Player of the Month award.

The opposition

Seagulls soaring high.

Sunday's hosts are in fine form, currently on 10 points after winning three of their opening five games, but most recently drew 1-1 with Manchester United; former Red Devils striker Nikita Parris scoring against her former employers.

Brighton's wins came against Crystal Palace, Brighton and Everton on the opening day, in which Kiko Seike scored a hat-trick. Their single loss, meanwhile, was a narrow defeat to Manchester City in September.

Also top of Group D in the Women's League Cup, which includes Leicester, the Seagulls will prove to be a tough test for a City side trying to adjust to their new style of play and reduced numbers in an injury-riddled squad.

In the dugout

Brighton Manager Dario Vidošić has settled in well to WSL life.

Australian Manager Dario Vidošić has adjusted to English football well since his move to the south coast from Melbourne City, where he was in charge from October 2023 until moving to Brighton this summer.

Averaging two points per game in his first five matches, the 37-year-old represented his home nation during his playing days between 2009 and 2014, scoring twice in 23 matches.

Last time out

The scores ended level last time the two sides met at Broadfield Stadium.

Despite Brighton's impressive start to the season, City do have a good record against their counterparts, winning three out of six previous meetings - the most recent coming on the final day of the 2022/23 season when a lone goal from Ava Baker made the difference in Crawley.

Leicester only managed to take one point from their two WSL fixtures against Brighton last season. Lena Petermann and Jutta Rantala putting the Foxes into the lead on their last visit to Broadfield Stadium before a late Elisabeth Terland brace resulted in the points being shared.
