- Foxes full-back CJ Bott previewed this weekend's match-up
City's full-back remained at Belvoir Drive during the recent break and spoke about the work that has been going on behind the scenes at Belvoir Drive during this period, outlining how everyone is excited to get back to action following the internationals.
"It's been a lot quieter during this international break with half of the squad out but it's been really nice and good to get more touches on the ball with some technical work," Bott explained. "It's been a good break for everyone and now we're fresh and ready to go.
"We're happy with the Everton win and we want to carry that momentum forward but I think it's also a good time to have a break and recover, clear the minds and take a rest.
"It's definitely a relief to get that first win but we also knew it would come. We missed a few opportunities to get that win earlier, but we're happy to get it before this break and give us something to build on."
While only scoring twice this season, City do have one of the league's best defensive records, conceding four times, keeping consecutive clean sheets in their last two games.
Part of that stronghold defence, Bott is happy to see how the team's resilience at the back has been rewarded, and hopes to keep that form going.
She added: "It's always frustrating when we can't score ourselves, but something we can control as a backline is keeping a clean sheet and we're priding ourselves by doing that recently.
"We feel good and cohesive as a backline and with the 'keeper as well so we're feeling confident and hopefully keep a few more clean sheets in the games to come."
Getting more accustomed to Amandine Miquel's more defensive style of play, the New Zealand international believes the Foxes are working on something special at Belvoir Drive, but understands the enormity of this weekend's challenge against an in-form Seagulls.
The 29-year-old added: "Brighton are a really strong squad at the minute and their signings have impacted them positively and they're in good form so we know what to expect. We've played them in pre-season so we've had a taste of it.
"But we know what to do and it's not going to be a game that either team will take lightly. We need to score early on and try to keep our clean sheet run in tact and then I think we'll be okay.
"It's been an adjustment for us (this season). We're sitting a lot deeper defensively and produce a lot more counter attacks then we're used to.
"It has been different but I think we're adjusting nicely and especially against Brighton, we know a few of their weaknesses which we'll hope to exploit so we're excited to take the momentum into Brighton."
