On loan Leicester City goalkeeper Brad Young maintained a clean sheet as Hartlepool United drew 0-0 with Eastleigh on Saturday.

The Pools were reduced to 10 men just 15 minutes into the contest at Victoria Park, but battled valiantly to keep out the visitors and claim a point in the 22-year-old’s seventh consecutive appearance for the North East outfit.

The Vanarama National League side are 14th in the table ahead of travelling to the Midlands to face Solihull Moors on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

In Sky Bet League 2, meanwhile, Brandon Cover played 87 minutes for Port Vale as they triumphed 1-0 away at Morecambe to remain top of the third tier. Ethan Chislett’s 83rd-minute strike proved to be the difference at Mazuma Mobile Stadium.

Holding a five-point advantage over second-place Crewe Alexandra, the Valiants host the Railwaymen at Vale Park on Monday (8pm kick-off), when the Foxes loanee could make his 14th appearance for the club.

Elsewhere in the division, Wales youth international Chris Popov was an unused substitute in Barrow’s 3-1 defeat to Wimbledon, while fellow forward Amani Richards remained on the bench during Exeter City’s goalless draw with Lincoln City in Sky Bet League 1.

Other Foxes loanees, including Sky Bet Championship trio Tom Cannon, Harry Souttar and Ben Nelson, will be back in action later this week, following the conclusion of the international break.
