There was plenty of Leicester City involvement in the latest international window, as Africa Cup of Nations qualifying and the UEFA Nations League group stage came to a close.

- Bilal El Khannouss (Morocco) and Danny Ward (Wales) both featured in successes for their nations
- Wout Faes, Victor Kristiansen and Jannik Vestergaard all played 180 minutes of football
- Wilfred Ndidi, Jordan Ayew, Abdul Fatawu and Kasey McAteer were also in action

Bilal El Khannouss was introduced as a half-time substitute in Morocco's 7-0 thrashing of Lesotho at Honneur Stadium in Oujda, having played the last 10 minutes of an emphatic 5-1 win over Gabon at Stade de Franceville three days earlier.

Those results ensured Walid Regragui's men maintained a 100 per cent record in their AFCON qualifying campaign, topping Group B by a margin of eight points.

Staying with AFCON, Wilfred Ndidi played throughout Nigeria's 1-1 draw with Benin, lining up alongside former Foxes Kelechi Iheanacho and Ademola Lookman in José Peseiro’s starting XI for the qualifier.

Lining up for Denmark.

Unbeaten in the first five qualifiers for the 2025 tournament, the midfielder was an unused substitute as the Super Eagles lost 2-1 to Rwanda at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Monday. Having already secured their place in the 2025 tournament, Augustine Eguavoen's side finished top of Group D with 11 points from six matches.

The pick of the week’s goals came from Jordan Ayew, who netted in Ghana's 1-1 draw with Angola at Estádio 11 de Novembro, scoring a stunning free-kick to hand the Black Stars the lead, while Abdul Fatawu saw out the first half before his replacement at the interval.

Both players were unavailable to take part in the subsequent 2-1 defeat to Niger, leaving Ghana unable to qualify, finishing fourth in Group F.

Over in the UEFA Nations League, Victor Kristiansen and Jannik Vestergaard both played 90 minutes twice for Denmark, confirming second place in League A Group 4. The Danes were defeated 2-1 by Spain at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, before a goalless draw with Serbia at Gradski Stadion.

Up against Israel in the Nations League.

It was a good night for Danny Ward on Tuesday, who played in Wales' 4-1 win over Iceland at Cardiff City Stadium to secure promotion from League B of the Nations League.

Starting the day in second position, the Dragons claimed top spot in the final stretch, winning the group by one point, having triumphed in three of their six games.

Centre-back Wout Faes played throughout both of Belgium’s final two Nations League A Group 2 fixtures, starting a narrow 1-0 defeat to Italy at King Baudouin Stadium before losing out by the same scoreline to Israel at Bozsik Aréna in Hungary.

The Red Devils finished third in the group, with four points from their six games, and will now head into a relegation play-off to decide their fate in the competition.

Elsewhere, Kasey McAteer featured for the Republic of Ireland, coming off the bench late on at Wembley Stadium during a 5-0 defeat to England in League B Group 2. Heimir Hallgrímsson's men finish in third place, with six points from their six matches.
