Asmita Ale spoke about her desire to get as much game time as possible this season in the build up to LCFC Women's League Cup clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.

- The Women's League Cup game kicks-off at 2pm GMT
- It's important to try and get a win to build confidence, says Ale

This weekend sees the Foxes make the trip to Broadfield Stadium, but unlike their visit three weeks ago, this time will be in order to face the Seagulls in Group D of the League Cup.

Hoping to add to their point gained against Bristol City in October, City's No.12 says the squad will head into Sunday's clash full of confidence, aware that they have a job to do in order to see out victory.

"We're staying positive and trusting the process," Ale stated. "Hopefully we'll get the win and we're working really hard. I know at the weekend we had some really good attacks going so if we can keep that up, and still concentrate on the defence, that will be good."

Asmita Ale has made six appearances this season.

The hosts head into the game in fine form across each competition played this season, with five wins already in the Barclays Women's Super League and an opening League Cup win against Birmingham City.

One positive that might favour the Foxes is that they have already faced Dario Vidošić's side this season, and can take learnings from their narrow 1-0 defeat earlier this month.

"We had analysis this week and we spoke about how they went aggressive against us last time out," Ale continued. "So we're expecting that again and put a lot of players against our backline.

"But they have slightly changed their plan in the last few games so we have to be wary. They have a system where their full-backs go forward.

"They have a lot of possibilities and are a really free-flowing team with good movement so it's about staying concentrated and having good communication on the pitch.

This season has always been about getting into the team as much as possible.

"It's important to try and get a win to build confidence. Everyone's staying positive but it's good it's at the weekend so we can play our best team and get the three points we've been waiting for.

"We want to give them a good game and we know that they are a tough side. It won't be easy but we've shown glimpses in the last few games of good play from the attackers. It's about being switched on and sticking to the game plan."

Talking about her ambitions for this season, the former Tottenham Hotspur defender stated her aims to get minutes on the pitch, and adapt her game to help an ever-strengthening defensive setup.

Ale added: "This season has always been about getting into the team as much as possible. I've been growing towards that, and have got more appearances lately so I just need to stay concentrated out of possession, track my players and hopefully play my part in what has been a great defensive backline."
