Leicester City Football Club is delighted to announce that LCFC.com has undergone an exciting overhaul this summer - providing the Blue Army with an innovative and immersive new online experience.
After a longstanding contract with English Football League Digital (EFL Digital) expired this summer, the Club have worked in close coordination with website creators Pulselive and digital consultants Seven League to bring the Blue Army closer to events at King Power Stadium than ever before.
The new-look, fully-responsive LCFC.com features a clean design, combining written and video content to provide unrivalled coverage of the Foxes across desktop, tablet and mobile platforms. All LCFC TV and LCFC Radio content, including exclusive interviews and match highlights, will also be free of charge.
With a Live Match Centre under construction, City supporters won’t miss a thing on matchday as the Club embarks on the 2017/18 Premier League season. The new website will also provide users with an unrivalled supply of playing statistics from Opta, the world’s leading sports data provider.
A beta version of the redeveloped LCFC.com will be made public on Monday 12 June and the Club are inviting supporters to provide their feedback on the new platform before the full launch of the website on Wednesday 21 June.
Leicester City Chief Executive Susan Whelan said: “Our official website is a key frontline asset for the Club – providing important information, high-quality content and unrivalled coverage for our users, while also serving as a progressive vehicle for the Leicester City brand.
“Healthy investment in the long-term improvement of such assets has been a feature throughout King Power’s ownership of the Club. Now that we have secured full digital independence and can tailor such investments to strive for an online experience that is best in class, our supporters can look forward to further advancements in our digital offering across commercial and editorial platforms.”
Pulselive, whose clients include the Premier League and the International Cricket Council, provide digital solutions to some of the biggest sports federations and commercial brands in the world.
Pulselive’s Managing Director Wyndham Richardson said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Leicester City at such an exciting stage of the Club's history. Central to this redevelopment is the desire to serve fans, both in the UK and overseas, with a world class digital offering bringing them closer to the action, wherever they are. The launch of the new LCFC.com is just the beginning and we're excited at how this partnership will grow over the coming seasons."
Seven League, a digital partner of Leicester City for the last 18 months, deliver digital excellence in a variety of fields such as business transformation, social and digital content, marketing and tech innovation. Their client list involves the world's leading sports clubs such as FC Barcelona, Juventus and the Green Bay Packers.
Seven League’s CEO Richard Ayers said: “Working with Leicester City on their digital strategy and the evolution of their digital platforms has been a total pleasure. The Club are well on their way to transforming their digital business with new platforms, intelligence, commercial activations and becoming an industry leader for the quality of their digital fan experience."
The beta version of the new site has prioritised key functionalities in its early stages to ensure user feedback can be integrated into the platform’s core development. Further elements will be introduced to the site in the build-up to the new Premier League season, including the brand new Live Match Centre, which will be active for the Premier League Asia Trophy in Hong Kong in mid-July.
The site’s ticketing and retail systems, whose extensive integration includes a single sign-on solution to consolidate all online purchases, will be introduced in the coming weeks. It is a bespoke system that is the first of its kind in English football and will offer users a more personalised, informative, streamlined experience across the site.
