Leicester City Academy youngster Lamine Kaba Sherif has signed a two-year professional contract with the Club.

The tough-tackling central midfielder, 18, broke into the Development Squad during the 2016/17 campaign after impressing for the Under-18s and Under-19s.

Kaba Sherif, who joined the Club at Under-10 level, played a major role in City’s march to the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup and also represented the Foxes during their maiden campaign in the UEFA Youth League.

After a productive domestic season, he was selected in City’s 10-man HKFC Citi Soccer Sevens squad for the Hong Kong-based competition, which took place in May.

It proved to be a successful tournament for Kaba Sherif and his team-mates, who won every game en route to the HKFC Citi Soccer Sevens title.

He is the third Academy player to sign a professional contract at City this summer, with Alex Pascanu and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall doing so earlier this month.
