- Slimani and Ulloa will both miss out due to injury
- Okazaki is available for selection after having stitches in his leg
Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri revealed he will be without the services of on Tuesday, as the striker continues his recovery from a minor groin injury.
Slimani, who scored a brace on his in September, had a recurrence of the problem while on duty for Algeria at the Africa Cup of Nations.
While he is unavailable for the trip to Burnley, Ranieri is hopeful his frontman will be fit for Sunday’s fixture against Manchester United at King Power Stadium.
“Slimani Is not available,” said the City boss. “It’s a little problem but it’s also an old problem. It’s not just the Africa Cup problem. He’s always had a little problem.
“I hope he comes back for the Manchester United match but I’m not sure. It depends on how he progresses. It’s important for him to recover as soon as possible.”
Meanwhile, Ranieri confirmed striker Shinji Okazaki has had stitches in his foot, but has trained well since and is not a doubt for Tuesday’s encounter.
Ranieri continued: “He (Shinji Okazaki) had some stitches behind [his foot] because he had a bad kick. He’s fit and he’s trained.”
Finally, frontman Leonardo Ulloa will not feature against the Clarets having not been able to shake off a muscular problem which he picked up in the on Saturday 7 January.
“He’s (Leonardo Ulloa) had this problem and is working with the physio,” said Ranieri. “He’s not fit.”
