- The Foxes will be without both Nampalys Mendy and Ben Chilwell for the trip to White Hart Lane
- Ranieri revealed Yohan Benalouane is getting closer to full fitness
Claudio Ranieri provided an update on the fitness of Nampalys Mendy, Ben Chilwell and Yohan Benalouane ahead of Leicester City’s Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
The Foxes head to White Hart Lane on Saturday and will be without both Nampalys Mendy (ankle) and Ben Chilwell (muscular) for the fixture.
Mendy has not featured since injuring his ankle on his Premier League debut against Arsenal in August, while Ranieri confirmed Chilwell picked up a muscle strain while on international duty for England Under-21s earlier this month.
“Ben Chilwell is injured,” Ranieri said ahead of Saturday’s fixture. “He has a little problem. Him and Nampalys Mendy are the only two players out.
“Chilwell has a little muscle strain. He went away with the national team (England Under-21s), came back and didn’t play.”
Meanwhile, Ranieri also discussed the fitness of defender Benalouane, who has notched up some valuable minutes for the Club’s Development Squad in recent weeks.
Ranieri said of Benalouane: “He is getting closer. He has trained very well and played well for the Under-23s. If I need him soon he is ready to play.”
