The 18-year-old Academy Graduate has been a regular fixture for Steve Beaglehole’s Development Squad this season, and most recently appeared in Monday night’s 2-1 win over Stoke City at King Power Stadium.
A tough-tackling central midfielder with a talent for taking set pieces, McCourt heads to the Gulls ahead of their weekend clash away to Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park, where he could make his Football League debut.
Alan Knill’s side currently sit in 21st position in the League 2 table with nine points from 10 games, and the addition of McCourt will provide a welcome boost to the Plainmoor side’s midfield options ahead of Saturday’s match.
Liverpool-born McCourt progressed through City’s Academy and after featuring heavily for the Under-18s and Steve Beaglehole’s successful Under-21s team last season, was part of the group that took the prestigious Hong Kong Soccer Sevens title this summer.
