The 19-year-old Australian youth international defender, who can operate at either left-back or centre-half, will spend a month with the Stags – his first taste of league football.
Elder has been a fixture in Steve Beaglehole’s Development Squad over the past two seasons, and will hope to make another key step in his development in League 2.
The youngster has the chance to hit the ground running when 19th-placed Mansfield travel to Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s in-form Burton Albion on Saturday, where he will come up against on-loan team-mate Jacob Blyth
