Since linking up with Dean Smith’s outfit in October last year, Cain has scored three times in 18 appearances – including two in his last two games against Scunthorpe and Colchester.
The dynamic 20-year-old has grown to be a key part of the current Saddlers side, and his performances have helped put them on the brink of a trip to Wembley, with only a second leg tie against Preston North End standing between them and the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final.
Cain’s goal in the 2-0 win over Colchester United at the weekend also helped propel his side up to 14th in the table, but in a tight league they sit just three points adrift of sixth-placed Bradford City.
After forming a key part of Steve Beaglehole’s Development Group in recent seasons, Cain earned his Leicester City debut against Shrewsbury Town in this season’s Capital One Cup tie at King Power Stadium.
