April saw Nigel Pearson’s Foxes put together an incredible run of four consecutive wins for the first time in the Premier League, against West Ham, West Brom, Swansea City and Burnley, breathing new life into their survival bid in the process.
Pearson told Foxes Player: "It’s a collective effort and as always I'm very proud to be the manager of Leicester City."When these sorts of days come around it's nice to pick up the award but it's recognition of a collective effort.
"We had an outstanding month and we needed to. I’m delighted to accept the award on behalf of everyone at the Football Club."
Only two Leicester City managers had won Premier League Manager of the Month Awards previously; Martin O’Neill (three) and most recently Peter Taylor in September 2000.
Both Jamie Vardy and Kasper Schmeichel were named in the shortlist for the April’s Barclays Premier League Player of the Month award, which went to Aston Villa's Christian Benteke.
