- Midfielder previously enjoyed a loan spell at the Cobblers in 2014
- Watson could be involved in Northampton’s clash with Plymouth Argyle on Saturday
Development Squad midfielder Ryan Watson has joined Sky Bet League 2 side Northampton Town on loan until January 2016.
Former Wigan Athletic youngster Watson made his first team debut for Leicester City in their Capital One Cup tie with Shrewsbury Town last season, having already enjoyed a spell on loan at Northampton in 2014.
He made appearances for both the first team and the Development Squad this pre-season, most recently playing for the Club’s Under-21s in their league clash at Norwich City on Monday.
A talented central midfielder, Watson will now look to help a Cobblers side that have had a positive start to their 2015/16 season.
Two league victories over Bristol Rovers and Exeter City came either side of a Capital One Cup win against Blackpool. A 2-0 loss to Barnet last time out means Northampton currently occupy seventh position in League 2.
Watson could first be involved for Northampton in their league fixture with sixth-placed Plymouth Argyle at Sixfields Stadium on Saturday.
