- Australian youth international has made five appearances since his initial loan move in August
- Elder enjoyed a successful 21-game loan spell with League 2 Mansfield Town in 2014/15
Leicester City’s Development Squad defender Callum Elder has extended his loan spell with League 1 side Peterborough United until January 2016.
The 20-year-old has made five appearances for the London Road outfit since his initial loan began in August – most recently in a 1-1 home draw with Walsall on Saturday afternoon.
Elder is a versatile defender who can operate at either centre half or left back and has already experienced the Football League with an excellent 21-game loan spell with Mansfield Town in League 2 last term.
The Australian youth international has grown to be a key player for Steve Beaglehole’s Development Squad in recent seasons and found the net for them last month in a 1-1 Barclays U21 Premier League draw with Everton at King Power Stadium.
The Posh currently sit in 18th position in the League 1 table at this early stage and Elder will hope to be involved in Saturday’s trip to Bradford City as his team look to close the five point gap to the top six.
