Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has been nominated for the Barclays Premier League Player of the Month award.
The England international forward, who tops the Premier League scoring charts with seven goals, has been in a rich vein of form since the start of the season, but was particularly potent during September.
Vardy hit four goals in three games during the month, starting with a typically determined finish during a sensational on 13 September.
Another equaliser in a six days later helped secure another vital away point, as the Foxes maintained their unbeaten start to the season, before two excellent finishes in the the following week.
Vardy is one of six players shortlisted for the September award. Manchester United duo Anthony Martial and Daley Blind are both among the nominees, along with West Ham United’s Dimitri Payet, Watford’s Odion Ighalo and Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
The winner will be announced on Friday morning ahead of City’s trip to Southampton on Saturday.
