- Wales forward to spend remainder of the season with Cardiff after spell with Blackburn
- Cardiff sit ninth in the Championship, three points outside the playoffs
Leicester City forward Tom Lawrence has today joined Championship side Cardiff City on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Lawrence, 22, recently returned from his latest loan spell with Blackburn Rovers, where he has made 23 appearances this term, scoring twice.
Now the Wales international heads for the Welsh capital to aid Russell Slade’s Bluebirds in their pursuit of the Championship’s top six. Cardiff currently sit ninth in the table, three points outside the playoffs ahead of Saturday’s home game against MK Dons.
Signed from Manchester United in August 2014, Lawrence’s development at Leicester has been strongly aided by the loan system. As well as two spells with Blackburn this season, the versatile forward benefitted from a month-long, seven-game stint with Rotherham United last term.
He was heavily involved in City’s pre-season programme following the appointment of Claudio Ranieri and captained the Foxes in the pre-season friendly at Mansfield Town in July.
