As Kelechi Iheanacho becomes Leicester City’s fourth summer signing, the Nigerian striker will link up with compatriots Wilfred Ndidi and Ahmed Musa at King Power Stadium.

It is not the first time that City has housed more than one star from the same national side in recent years, nor is it the only international contingent within Craig Shakespeare’s squad at present.

We look at six club and country partnerships on the books past and present.

Wilfred Ndidi & Ahmed Musa

Iheanacho has been greeted by two familiar faces at Belvoir Drive this week; Ndidi and Musa.

The pair’s last joint Nigeria outing was a 3-0 victory over Togo in June, in which Musa struck twice.

Jamie Vardy & Danny Drinkwater

Vardy and Drinkwater in Three Lions action in 2016.

In 2016, Vardy and Drinkwater both donned England shirts in a 2-1 defeat by the Netherlands at Wembley.

On his debut, Drinkwater was named as Man of the Match, while Vardy also netted at the national stadium.

Emile Heskey & Steve Guppy

Guppy’s only England cap came in 1999, a 2-1 success over Belgium at the Stadium of Light, Sunderland with Foxes team-mate Heskey also eventually joining the fray in the 84th minute.

Riyad Mahrez & Islam Slimani

Elsewhere, City's No.26 Riyad Mahrez and compatriot Islam Slimani (on loan with Newcastle United) have been selected for Algeria’s friendlies versus Tanzania and Iran.

To Algerian supporters, Mahrez and Slimani are irreplaceable figures in Lucas Alcaraz's squad.

Following the 2017 AFCON, their last duo appearance for the Desert Foxes was a June friendly win over Guinea.

Jeffrey Schlupp & Daniel Amartey

Academy product Schlupp is yet to team up with Amartey in Ghana’s colours since his City departure.

Amartey, meanwhile, played six times as they finished fourth at the 2017 AFCON.

Andy King & Tom Lawrence

Lawrence and King are colleagues with Wales.

While King appeared for Wales at UEFA EURO 2016, helping Chris Coleman’s side reach the semi-finals, Lawrence featured as recently as this summer, against Serbia in July.
