- Craig Shakespeare provides an update on the fitness of Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho
- City enjoyed a 2-1 comeback victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach on Friday night
- The Nigerian international was replaced by Leonardo Ulloa in the 84th minute
- Shakespeare also commented on Islam Slimani and Danny Drinkwater at King Power Stadium
Following his transfer to the Club just 24 hours beforehand, Iheanacho enjoyed an 18-minute salvo at King Power Stadium on Friday, but was later forced to make way after colliding with Laszlo Benes.
With the Foxes trailing their German visitors 1-0 when he replaced Shinji Okazaki in the 66th minute, the Nigerian international's impact was immediate - and City swiftly overturned the scoreline.
Jamie Vardy grabbed a tidy equaliser within 60 seconds of Iheanacho's introduction before the England striker linked up with his new team-mate to complete the turnaround in the 74th minute.
Shakespeare, speaking at full-time, told LCFC TV: "He’s fine in there. He’s getting a bit of a ribbing from the players in terms of him coming off.
"You can see the impact he’s had. We’re just really making sure that was more of a precaution. He hasn’t trained very often, he hasn’t been able to because of circumstance.
"The more minutes he can get on the pitch, the more liable he will be to last 90 minutes."
Islam Slimani and Danny Drinkwater also sat out the clash with Mönchengladbach.
Shakespeare added: "Islam is improving greatly and we’re hoping he will be training with the squad over the coming days. Danny unfortunately picked up a thigh strain in training on Wednesday and we’ll have to assess that one as we go."
