The England international striker’s second-half penalty wasn’t enough for the Foxes to get a result against Chelsea, who on Saturday recorded a 2-1 win at King Power Stadium.
But Vardy, in good form after netting his third goal in just four Premier League appearances, couldn’t fault his side’s efforts against the reigning champions.
Speaking after the clash, City’s No.9 said: “I think you can say that we’ve definitely left everything out there – we gave it our all.
“We’re a bit disappointed with the first goal, but up until that point, it was an even game.
“We made changed at half-time to try and get back into it. They’ve scored again but after that we’ve had quite a few chances and got ourselves back in it. It just wasn’t enough in the end.
“It was end-to-end at the end but we gave our all and had a few chances. On another day, it might have been a different result.”
The Foxes have already faced three of the sides that finished in last season’s top six and Vardy believes performances so far this term have left his side feeling confident.
He added: “We’re still upbeat. We’ve had Arsenal away, Manchester United away and Chelsea at home and then obviously Brighton at home where we’ve got the win.
“We’ve played well in each of those games and the performances have been good, so we’ve just got to keep that up and the points will start coming.”
