The Foxes were the dominant side for much of the encounter at Meadow Park but fell to a frustrating reverse courtesy of an own goal by Darnell Johnson in the 32nd minute.

“I hate losing but I have taken a lot of pleasure out of that performance,” Beaglehole told LCFC TV. "I thought it was a terrific display, we had 17-18 corners and plenty of efforts on goal.

“They [Arsenal] have some good players out there, one in particular in Calum Chambers. I think we had the best player on the pitch tonight and that was Hamza [Choudhury].

“I thought he was outstanding."

Hamza Choudhury stays close to his man for the Foxes.

He added: “We’re disappointed that we didn’t keep a clean sheet. It was a mistake, a ball played in when we were in control early on, so we’ve gone in at half-time 1-0 down.

“We were far more assertive in the second half, we dominated the game, there is no question about that. With that performance and those stats, you normally win the game comfortably.

“That’s football. We’ll go somewhere under the cosh and win.”

The lads deserved a lot of credit and a lot of positive feedback, which they’ve got from the coaching staff tonight.

“Sometimes, you’ve got to look beyond the result and I’m pleased that I’ve been able to do that tonight,” he continued.

“The lads deserved a lot of credit and a lot of positive feedback, which they’ve got from the coaching staff tonight. Every one of them was a credit to the Club.”
