Last Friday evening, young defender Elliott Moore’s stock for Belgian Proximus League outfit OH Leuven rose further with another full 90 minutes during a 0-0 draw with Union Saint-Gilloise.
The following day, Australian left back Callum Elder was an unused substitute for Wigan Athletic’s Sky Bet League 1 encounter with Bristol Rovers at DW Stadium, a 3-0 victory for the Latics.
Barnes also started a 3-0 reverse for Barnsley to Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa at Oakwell, with Albert Adomah (2) and Adam Davis finding the net for the former European champions.
On Sunday afternoon, meanwhile, Poland international Bartosz Kapustka featured for Bundesliga side Freiburg in a 4-0 loss to Bayer Leverksen at BayArena.
Elsewhere, in Ligue 1, Papy Mendy appeared for 71 minutes during a 1-0 success for Nice at Rennes, a result secured by Mario Balotelli’s late strike at Roazhon Park.

Moore featured again for Leuven on Monday evening, playing the full 120 minutes in a 4-2 extra-time defeat by Sint-Truiden in a Belgian Cup tie at Stayen Stadium.
While Elder once again did not come off the bench for Wigan in a 1-0 success over Northampton on Tuesday, Barnes represented Barnsley at Wembley.
Despite a spirited display in the capital, Dele Alli’s 65th minute strike ensured that it was Spurs, and not Paul Heckingbottom’s Tykes, who reached the Carabao Cup fourth round.
