- Christian Fuchs wants Leicester City to continue putting together positive results, with Stoke City next up on Saturday
- The Foxes head to bet365 Stadium having not lost in their previous five games
- Stoke beat Watford last time out thanks to Darren Fletcher’s first-half strike
Key Premier League victories over Swansea and Everton have propelled City up to 11th in the table, while a Carabao Cup triumph against Leeds and draws with Bournemouth and West Brom means Leicester are unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions.
Left back Fuchs believes the clash with Stoke City on Saturday is a big opportunity to continue that fine form, as the Foxes look to replicate Sunday’s performance at King Power Stadium.
“It feels good obviously with the clean sheet in the last game against Everton,” Fuchs told LCFC TV prior to the clash.
“We’re trying to create momentum right now. The confidence is high, but it’s down to us to maintain that and stay focused on each game.
“I think it was a game with two very different halves. The first half, we had more of the game and created a couple of chances and scored two goals.
“In the second half, we were sitting back and defending. It felt like the old Leicester. What’s important is that we keep going, keep winning and getting the points.”
The Foxes haven’t been beaten by Stoke since January 2015, while their last trip to the Potteries ended in a 2-2 draw thanks to Daniel Amartey’s late header.
“It certainly is (tough),” Fuchs said of playing at bet365 Stadium. “We just have to remember last season when we went 2-0 down and still came back with Daniel [Amartey’s] header in the last minute. We have good memories about that place, so we’ll try and keep them good.
“We’re trying to go there and win the game. In the end, if we win the game, I don’t care how it works out. Obviously, everybody is a friend of good, effective football, but at the end it’s down to the result.”
Amartey’s late goal for the 10 men of City came right in front of the Blue Army and with a tough fixture to come, Fuchs knows his men will again need that level of support at lunchtime on Saturday.
He added: “They are always amazing – there’s no questions asked about that. We experienced it last season.
“Everybody knew that it was a tough game for us with all the circumstances, but seeing this wall of Leicester supporters, obviously they are pushing you.
“You can then overcome one man down and I think it’s going to be the same story with the support this Saturday.”
