- Riyad Mahrez has enjoyed playing a role in Leicester City’s good run of form
- The Algerian has scored three goals in his last five appearances for the Foxes
- Mahrez believes City can claim three Premier League points from Saturday’s clash with Manchester City
The Foxes have not lost since their defeat to Liverpool in September and victories over Swansea City and Everton and draw with Stoke City last time out has seen them move up to 12th in the table.
Mahrez, meanwhile, has scored three goals in his last five games in all competitions and his fine form has paid dividends for City in recent weeks.
“I feel happy and I feel good,” said Mahrez ahead of the game. “When we win and when we score, it makes me happy. It’s a good sign.
“It’s one aspect of one thing. It’s good for an attacking player to be involved in the goals or getting assists.
“We’re playing well and we’re winning so everything is good. At the moment, we’re winning so we’re in good form.
“When you score and keep winning, it goes on its own, so we just need to keep winning games.”
The feeling within the Foxes squad – also stated by Danny Simpson in his pre-match interview – is that Manchester City can be beaten as long as City stamp their authority on the game.
Mahrez continued: “We can [beat them]. We just need to play how we play as always. The last few years, we’ve beat them twice and they know we can beat them. It will be a good game.
“I don’t want to think about if we win, we just have to play the game and then think about it afterwards. We have to work and try to win games.
“It’s a big, big game on Saturday. It’s a good challenge for us. They haven’t lost a game, so it’s a good challenge. We will see.
“They’re in a good position. I think to win the league, you can probably only lose a maximum of four or five games. After that, it’s difficult.”
Mahrez also discussed the good work Claude Puel has already implemented during his first few weeks at the Club.
“He has brought different things and different ideas, but he hasn’t changed a lot of things yet because it’s only been two or three weeks that he’s been here,” added the Algerian.
“He’s very calm and he’s a hard worker. He’s told me to get on the ball more and try to play for the team with good attacking action.
“I knew him from France and he had a good reputation and from what I’ve seen so far, I’m confident.”
