- Harry Maguire wants Leicester City to carry their momentum through the Christmas period and into the New Year
- The Foxes are now looking up the table following four consecutive wins, says Maguire
- The centre back praised the Blue Army for helping him settle at the Club so quickly
Maguire says the Foxes are bursting with confidence and rightly so. They have lost just once in their last 12 games in all competitions and sit only five points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
The England international has played every minute of all 17 Premier League games this term and his role in City’s recent success has been a significant one.
“We know it’s an important time,” said the City centre back. “Games come near enough every day – you go into a match and then straight away you’re preparing for the next one.
“You don’t have much time to think about things, but we know that if we can get a bit of form together over the Christmas period, the momentum will be with us to go into the New Year.
“It leaves you in a good position and you’re looking up rather than down. That’s the main aim now. We know we’ve been playing well, but we’ve got three or four big games before Christmas and we’re going to try and carry on the run.”
Maguire has already developed a strong bond with the Club’s fans and that has been a welcoming factor for the former Hull City man.
“Since I’ve come here, the Club itself has made it really easy to settle,” he added. “The fans, staff and all the players have made it easy.
“That’s one of the reasons why I’ve hit the ground running and I’m trying to keep on improving my performances.
“The fans this year have been brilliant at King Power Stadium. They make so much noise. Then obviously away from home, 2,500 fans at Southampton is crazy. Hopefully we can keep getting three points and sending them home happy.”
