The Foxes rounded off 2017 with a narrow defeat to Liverpool on Saturday and while they were beaten, they showed plenty of quality at Anfield.
Now, the challenge for City is to return to winning ways following two straight away defeats, and with the backing of 30,000 Foxes fans, Monday’s fixture is one Iborra believes his side are confident ahead of.
“It’s a very important game for us with our fans,” Iborra told LCFC TV. “Against a very strong team, they are very physical with high quality players.
“I think the season is very positive for me, for the team. I am playing after my injury and I can help the team. The most important thing is that the team is in a good position.
“The recent games were very difficult for us but the feeling is positive. Manchester City beat us on penalties and we drew against Manchester United in the last minute with one man less which is good for the confidence of the team.”
After overcoming a groin injury earlier in the season, Iborra has now featured 16 times for City in all competitions this term and says the target now is to help his side climb the Premier League table.
“It’s a new experience for me,” said Iborra of his first season in England. “It is a positive because I can enjoy playing against different teams and players, the most important thing is to win the games for the teams.
“The team is in a good position, we can improve and why not start to climb the positions?
“I’m very happy, it’s very important for me because I just want to help the team and help the Club and the fans to enjoy the team. If I can play well and help our fans to enjoy, it’s very important for me and I’m very happy.”
