The central defender has not featured since picking up a hamstring injury during the 3-0 Premier League win over Huddersfield Town on New Year’s Day.
Puel confirmed Morgan will not be involved on Saturday, but his return to training has certainly been a welcome sight for the Frenchman.
Speaking to the media about Morgan’s fitness on Friday afternoon, Puel said: “He was in the training session this morning.
"He will come back in the training session and will be available for games later [this season] and we will see this.
“He needs training sessions and good match fitness to play with us now.”
