- Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy previews Saturday's fixture at Crystal Palace (3pm kick-off)
- The Foxes head to Selhurst Park seeking a first win in three games in the Premier League
- Vardy is aware that the Palace fans will create an imposing atmosphere
- However, the England international is approaching the fixture with confidence
The south London outfit’s supporters are renowned for creating a raucous atmosphere and, with Roy Hodgson’s men needing points for survival, Vardy expects nothing less this weekend.
City head to the capital for a 3pm kick-off on Saturday and they know three points could see them regain eighth place in the Premier League standings.
“The atmosphere is always unbelievable, the fans come out in force and back their team all the way, but with a few wins there and a few losses,” the England international said.
“If we’re at 100 per cent and on our game, we know we can cause them problems and hopefully we’ll come away with the points.”
Vardy, 31, also reserved praise for Hodgson, his former England manager who provided him with a Three Lions debut against Republic of Ireland at Aviva Stadium in June 2015.
“Their manager has done brilliantly with Palace, he’s obviously leading them away from trouble and wants that to continue.
“For me personally, getting my first England cap under him and him telling me just to carry on playing how I do for the Club is what got me there and I obviously got taken to the Euros with him as well.”
However, Vardy is well aware that Hodgson’s Palace outfit will be tough opposition for the Foxes this weekend, especially considering the stakes at play in the relegation battle.
“This is football and everyone can beat anyone on their day,” he added. “They’re in this situation, they’re fighting for their lives to get out and we know it’s going to be a tough game.”
