After Ricardo Pereira agreed terms on a switch to King Power Stadium last week, LCFC.com takes a look at five other Portuguese stars to play for Leicester City.

The Lisbon-born 24-year-old right back agreed a five-year deal to become City’s first signing of the summer.

Check out the five other Portuguese Foxes below…

Ricardo

Joining from Spanish outfit Real Betis in January 2011 under Sven-Göran Eriksson, goalkeeper Ricardo arrived in Leicester having been capped for Portugal on 79 occasions. At international level, he famously saved and scored a penalty in the quarter-finals of the 2004 European Championships against England, before saving three more spot kicks against the Three Lions at the World Cup two years later. He made eight appearances for City during his five-month spell on Filbert Way.

Miguel Vitor

Centre back Miguel Vitor scored three times in 17 games for Leicester City during his loan from Portuguese giants Benfica during the 2010/11 campaign. However, his season-long spell at the Club was hampered by a hamstring injury, which saw him side-lined for three months. He now plays for Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Be'er Sheva.

Moreno

Moreno’s only professional spell in England started with City in August 2010, making his debut in a 4-3 victory over Macclesfield Town in the first round of the League Cup. The defensive midfielder signed from Vitoria Guimaraes and went on to make just six appearances for the Club before returning to Portugal in January 2012 with Nacional.

Marco Ferreira

Marco Ferreira, another former Portugal international, spent a month on loan at Leicester in August 2007. Joining from Benfica, the midfielder, despite being capped four times by Portugal, never featured for the Club, but had one game as an unused substitute. His career came to an end in 2010 at Greek outfit Ethnikos Piraeus.

Adrien Silva

Former Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva signed for the Foxes in 2017 and made his first start for the Club against Fleetwood Town in the Emirates FA Cup in January. A full Premier League bow then followed against Swansea City a month later. He has now made 16 appearances for Leicester in all competitions – his most recent against Tottenham Hotspur on the final day of the 2017/18 campaign.
