The Foxes midfielder chalked up a goal or assist in all four of his Premier League appearances in September. He scored from the spot against Bournemouth and found the net from a stunning free kick against Huddersfield, while he set up Rachid Ghezzal’s goal against Liverpool and Harry Maguire’s header at Newcastle.
The 21-year-old is up against Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, Everton’s Gylfi Sigurdsson, Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Willy Boly and Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling for September’s award.
Maddison joined the Foxes from Norwich City in the summer and has impressed in the Premier League under Claude Puel, with his performances earning him a first call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad for UEFA Nations League clashes away to Croatia and Spain in October.
The winner of September’s Premier League Player of the Month will be announced on Friday 12 October.
