With the scoreline at 1-0 thanks to Nicolai Jorgensen’s effort, Schmeichel pulled off a crucial save to turn away Gareth Bale’s free-kick with just seven minutes to play.

The Danes then doubled their lead shortly after through a Martin Braithwaite volley, and while Bale went on to net in injury time, Schmeichel’s nation secured all three points to move up to League A of the Nations League.
