- Claude Puel's men are currently seventh in the Premier League at the half-way point

The Foxes first defeated Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge last weekend before overcoming the champions 2-1 at King Power Stadium in extraordinary fashion on Boxing Day.

It was Ricardo’s 81st-minute stunner which sealed that victory over Pep Guardiola’s men on Filbert Way and the Portugal international took huge personal pride in the result.

He told LCFC TV at full-time: “It was not bad I think! Two wins over Christmas time is very good, but we have to think about the next game and continue like this.

“We enjoyed it together. It’s good to see, people are with us, that’s because we play for them, they support us, it’s very important, this atmosphere [at King Power Stadium].

“It’s very important for us to get the confidence, but we have to keep our feet on the ground because in three days we have to keep going like this.”

Cardiff City visit Leicester on Saturday for a 3pm GMT kick-off and, with City now sitting in seventh place, Ricardo believes Claude Puel’s men can build on their superb festive form.

We know we have a lot of quality and believe in ourselves to the end, because we know they are a difficult team, but if we play well together we can score goals in any game.

Reflecting on his Boxing Day winner, he added: “When I received the ball, I had to shoot or else there would be a counter attack and fortunately it was a good goal.

“Like I said before, I like to help the team attacking, first defending, but when I have the chance, I give the support up front.

“We know we have a lot of quality and believe in ourselves to the end, because we know they are a difficult team, but if we play well together we can score goals in any game.”
